I ordered 10lbs of short ribs cut 1 1/2 - 2" thick for soup. They came 1 1/2", fine. Out of curiosity, I threw them on a scale. They weighed just short of 9lbs. I called and they said they had weighed 10lbs 3oz... The guy in the store when I went said I could have 5lbs of soup bones. But I had to go home and order everything on line. I did. Apparently, the bones are $1/lbs. Instead of calling or emailing to tell me and ask for payment, they didn't send them. The next day, I weighed a 4l bag of milk and went to Verica. Their scale was slightly higher than mine, but within an oz. So the only possibility is one of the individual strips of ribs didn't make into my box. Each strip was just over 1lb. When I was there they were closing early for the long weekend abd the cutting room was empty. To compensate me, he put 2 Korean cut ribs in a bag (about half the missing weight). He wasn't standing next to a refrigerator... As for bones, he was told they were in the back of the freezer and offered me two that had been left on one of the tables. I pointed out they weren't enough. He said something to another guy who headed to the freezer. I went back to the front. He came back with a shopping bag with the 2 bones that were left on the table and the 2 small rib strips. I then went on a quest to find the needed soup bones.
In short, I was short shipped and the meat and bones they gave me were not from a refrigerator, when they were on their way home.
Needless to say, after shopping at the old location and old owners for the last decade, I will not be back to the new location and new owners.
